LIVERPOOL -- Jurgen Klopp has not totally closed the door on Mamadou Sakho's Liverpool career after the defender joined Crystal Palace on loan.
The French centre-half completed a move to Selhurst Park on transfer deadline day and will spend the rest of the 2016-17 season playing for Sam Allardyce's side.
Sakho had found himself frozen out at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp for numerous disciplinary issues over the past year and last played for the first team on April 20, 2016.
Speaking at a news conference on Thursday afternoon, Klopp was asked whether he would offer any guidance to Sakho and replied: "First of all, if I should give some advice to Mamadou Sakho then I should give it to him personally, not via television."
On whether Sakho had a future at Liverpool, he added: "Who knows what [happens] in half a year? We felt already what changed in one month, so there's another five to go.
"I think he should concentrate on the job at Crystal Palace, we should concentrate on what we are doing here.
"In this moment, he is on loan and that means he still has a contract at Liverpool. That's not the thing we talk or think about in this moment, so that's a good thing.
"That's a solution for the moment and we can wait for new impressions and then see what happens. That's nothing I think in this moment about."
Sakho had been playing and training with Liverpool's under-23s side before he completed his temporary switch to Palace, with the London outfit paying £2 million and covering the player's full wages.
