Merseyside Police have confirmed to ESPN FC that they are investigating an incident where a plastic bottle was thrown onto the pitch during Liverpool's 1-1 with Chelsea.
The incident occurred after Georginio Wijnaldum scored the equalising goal at Anfield on Tuesday night.
Merseyside Police say the investigation is ongoing and that CCTV images are inconclusive so far.

The police force confirmed that no one was injured and nobody has been arrested.
David Luiz put Chelsea ahead in the Premier League match with a free kick in the first half before Wijnaldum levelled proceedings in the 57th minute.
Simon Mignolet rescued a point for Jurgen Klopp's side after the goalkeeper saved Diego Costa's penalty kick 14 minutes from time.
