West Brom, Watford fined £45,000 for failing to control their players

West Bromwich Albion and Watford have both been fined £45,000 by the Football Association for failing to control their players during a Premier League clash earlier this month.

Watford forward Roberto Pereyra was sent off six minutes from the end of West Brom's 3-1 win on Dec. 3 when he reacted angrily to a James McClean challenge, with the incident resulting in both sets of players clashing on the touchline.

Both clubs were charged with misconduct by the FA after the match at The Hawthorns and have now been punished by English football's governing body after admitting the charge.

An FA statement read: "West Bromwich Albion and Watford have each been fined £45,000 after admitting an FA misconduct charge.

"The two clubs failed to ensure their players and/or officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour in the 84th minute of their game on 3 December 2016."
