Thibaut Courtois: Eden Hazard backheel vs. Gibraltar unnecessary

Thibaut Courtois ticked off Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard after Belgium's 6-0 World Cup qualifying win against Gibraltar on Monday.

Belgium have scored 13 goals without reply in their first three games of the campaign to put them in a strong position in Group H, but Courtois was upset by Hazard's showboating which he felt put his clean sheet at risk.

"I think I made my best save of the last two matches today," he told RTBF. "You always have to be alert. That's what I did, the team too. It's good to win like that.

"Of course, you don't want to concede a goal in any game. Moreover, against Gibraltar, if you concede, it gives off a bad image even if it's a great goal."

Smiling, he added: "So, a backheel [like Hazard's] isn't necessary.

"If I hadn't made that good save, we would have conceded a stupid goal and I don't like that.

"We have a perfect record. We haven't conceded a goal and we've scored a lot. It's positive. Now, in November, we have to make it 12 [points] out of 12."
