Raheem Sterling, Eden Hazard up for Premier League Player of the Month

Raheem Sterling, Eden Hazard, Antonio Valencia and Curtis Davies are nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month for August.

Sterling has thrived under new manager Pep Guardiola and helped Manchester City to make a 100 percent start to the season, scoring two goals, setting up one and winning a penalty.

Hazard has had a similar impact under Antonio Conte at Chelsea, winning three games out of three, scoring two goals in the process and making the most successful passes in the attacking third in the division.

Valencia, meanwhile, has established himself as first-choice right-back under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United as the Red Devils also made a perfect start to the campaign, conceding only once in their opening three fixtures.

Finally, Hull City defender Curtis Davies has led from the back on the Tigers' impressive return to the Premier League. Despite starting the season with only 13 fit senior players Davies helped Hull beat Leicester and Swansea before a close-fought 1-0 loss to Manchester United.

Each Premier League captain has a vote for who should win the award, alongside a panel made up of former footballers and managers with a decision set to be announced on Sept. 9.

Mourinho, Guardiola, Conte and Hull caretaker boss Mike Phelan have been nominated for the Manager of the Month award.
