Morgan Schneiderlin staying at Man United amid Spurs link - source

Morgan Schneiderlin will be staying at Manchester United as Tottenham have decided against making a move to sign him on deadline day, a source has told ESPN FC.

The France midfielder, signed for £24 million last summer, has only featured once for United in the Premier League so far this season, coming on as a substitute for the final five minutes in the 3-1 win at Bournemouth on Aug 14.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, who helped Schneiderlin develop while the pair were together at Southampton, was rumoured to be interested in a reunion but the player's agent, Pascal Boisseau, told SportWitness: "He's staying in Manchester."

United manager Jose Mourinho is happy with his squad and with Schneiderlin ready to fight for a place in his team, Sources have told ESPN FC that Tottenham's interest in the 26-year-old has now cooled.
