Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger coy on possible future as France coach

Arsene Wenger has batted away speculation about whether he'd like to coach France's national team one day.

Wenger's current contract at Arsenal expires after next season, and the 66-year-old Frenchman has said he won't make a decision on whether to stay at the club until next summer.

Wenger has long been linked to the job of France coach, but wouldn't comment on whether he could replace Didier Deschamps when his contract expires after the 2018 World Cup.

"I am getting a bit old now to make long-term plans," Wenger told broadcaster beIN Sports, where he is working as a pundit during Euro 2016. "For the moment I am a club manager, we shall see what happens."

Wenger also gave an insight into his match-day preparations, revealing that he usually tells his players his starting lineup a day before a game, which he claimed is different to most managers.

"I found this out at the UEFA manager's meeting in Geneva. I'm basically the only manager who gives the team on Friday," Wenger said.

"Everyone else seems to inform the squad of their team as late as possible. Sometimes you give the team late for solidarity reasons. Those who don't play, maybe they'll call their agents etc. But those who are starting, they want to know.

"When you are picking the team, you usually know nine out of 11 by Friday. But I find that if you do not know the team on Friday evening, you don't know it on Saturday morning either."
