Stromsgodset deny Manchester United offer for Martin Odegaard

Manchester United have not made an offer for teenage Norway international Martin Odegaard, his club Stromsgodset have said.

This year, the 15-year-old became the youngest player to feature in a European Championship qualifier and has been linked with clubs including United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Stromsgodset, however, are adamant that United have not tried to buy the attacking midfielder.

"We have not received a bid from Manchester United for Odegaard, so once again this is just speculation," director of football Jostein Flo, a former Norway and Sheffield United striker, told TV2.

"It might have come through the mailbox, but it has certainly not reached me."

Odegaard, who turns 16 this month, has scored five goals for Stromsgodset since making his debut in April, and United reportedly scouted him when he made his international bow in August.
