Ryan Giggs: Man United or nothing

Ryan Giggs has vowed to remain a one-club man and insists he will only delay his retirement to carry on playing for Manchester United.

• Okwonga: Lack of intensity, finishing doom United
• Delaney: Reality crashes down at Old Trafford

The interim manager's future is up in the air as his current contract at Old Trafford expires in the summer and he is waiting to see what role United's next manager -- probably Louis van Gaal -- has in mind for him.

The 40-year-old has ambitions to be a manager in his own right while United's powerbrokers are keen to see him take a place in Van Gaal's backroom team.

And the Dutchman, who is expected to make several signings, could perform a radical overhaul of the United squad, meaning some of the current players might be on their way.

But Giggs told British Sunday newspapers: "For me it has to be playing for Manchester United or nothing. Money doesn't come into it."

The winger has made a club record 962 appearances since debuting for United in 1991 but has not featured in two matches since taking caretaker charge after David Moyes was sacked.

He could make his final appearance at Old Trafford on Tuesday when Hull visit -- if he picks himself.

And Giggs added: "If there is no room for me in the starting lineup or on the bench, I won't do it. Of course, the perfect scenario would be coming on and scoring."
