Mourinho not interested in United job

Jose Mourinho is the latest manager to reject links to the vacant Manchester United job, insisting his long-term commitment is to Chelsea and no other club could prise him away.

David Moyes was sacked on Tuesday, which led to a recurrence of the speculation that the Portuguese could take the Old Trafford boss.

There had even been reports that United were going to investigate the possibility, and that Mourinho himself may be tentatively interested. The Chelsea manager, however, shot down such suggestions.

“Of course not,” he said when it was put to him. “I don't know how someone could think about it. I left Real Madrid specifically to come to Chelsea. I signed a four-year contract.

“I told Chelsea they never have to worry about me because I don't want to leave, so I stay here until the club wants me to [leave], so [no] job would move me from Chelsea.”

Mourinho also revealed that he has talked with Moyes since his departure from Old Trafford on Tuesday.

“I spoke with David privately and I don't have to share it with you.”
