Cardiff take action amid 'spy' claims

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino believes that their game against Cardiff won't be easy as the Welsh side fight to stay in the Premier League.

Cardiff have sacked one member of staff and are set to discipline another amid claims that their team to play Crystal Palace last weekend was leaked to the London club, the Press Association reports.

PA Sport reports that the action has been taken after the allegations emerged on Friday morning.

Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earlier dismissed any suggestion of involvement by any member of the Cardiff squad.

The Welsh club's chairman Mehmet Dalman has been in contact with the Premier League over the incident. The relegation battle ended in a 3-0 defeat for the Bluebirds.

The Sun reports that representatives from the Bluebirds met Premier League officials on Thursday to discuss allegations that Palace's sporting director Iain Moody, who previously worked for the Welsh side, used a spy to obtain Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's starting lineup.

However, the Eagles -- who are now seven points clear of the drop zone -- vociferously deny the claims. "I don't think I have done anything wrong," Moody said.
