Evans: WBA left to rue mistake

Berahino accepted responsibility after his error allowed Cardiff City to salvage a point in the 3-3 draw at The Hawthorns on Saturday and there have been claims of a physical altercation in the dressing room afterwards.

West Brom later issued a statement confirming tensions were “running high” in the dressing room afterwards but added: “What happened is not uncommon in a dressing room and shows that the players care. The players involved have apologised.”

However, newspapers including the Birmingham Mail and Daily Mail said the England under-21 international was considering taking action against Morrison after reportedly suffering facial injuries.

Berahino has now denied those claims in a statement on the club’s official website, which read: “I am not taking legal action against any teammate. I am only focusing on Saturday’s game at Norwich.”

The club’s sporting and technical director, Richard Garlick, added: “As we stated on Tuesday, the club has drawn a line under the matter. We have seven important games coming up and Saido, along with the rest of the squad, has a big part to play in them.”
