West Brom play down Berahino bust-up

West Brom insist that no further action will be taken after a dressing room bust-up allegedly left Saido Berahino with a head injury.

Evans: West Brom left to rue costly mistake

Berahino, who set up West Brom's third goal in stoppage time in their 3-3 draw with Cardiff City, was, according to the Mirror, blamed for giving the ball away in the dying seconds as Cardiff snatched a dramatic equaliser.

Two senior members of the team are said to have confronted him for attempting a cross rather than running the ball into the corner as West Brom broke clear with seconds remaining.

"Tensions were understandably running high in the dressing room after Cardiff's late equaliser," read a statement from the club.

"What happened is not uncommon in a dressing room and shows that the players care. The players involved have apologised. The club has drawn a line under the matter and is now fully focusing on Saturday's important game at Norwich."

Berahino took to Twitter after the game to apologise for his mistake, but made no mention of the postmatch incident.
