Adebayor: Arsenal can't handle pressure

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has taunted Arsenal ahead of the north London derby by claiming in the Mirror his former club "can't handle pressure."

• Crace: Sherwood and Spurs outwitted by a cunning Benfica

Adebayor, who played for the Gunners for three and a half seasons and scored 62 goals, believes Arsenal do not have any players who want to fight for the team, and has urged his Spurs teammates to put them under pressure when the sides meet at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

"Arsenal are a good team when they have the ball. When they don't, they are not that good. When you put them under pressure, they can't handle it," Adebayor said.

Adebayor insists that Mathieu Flamini is the only player at Arsenal who is aggressive, saying: "They don't have a lot of physical presence. Apart from Flamini, I don't see anyone who puts themselves into a proper battle.

"[Tomas] Rosicky is not that type of player, [Santi] Cazorla is not the type of player who defends. [Mikel] Arteta is trying to do it, but that's not his job.

"They don't have anybody who can say, 'If I have to kick, I will kick. If we have to fight, I will put myself at the front of it'. That's how we have to play. Push them and force them to make errors."
