Mourinho: I would swap places with City

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says he would swap places with Manchester City in the Premier League title run-in due to Manuel Pellegrini’s side having control over their own destiny.

Jose Mourinho has insisted his Chelsea side are not real title contenders this season.

The Stamford Bridge side lead City by six points after a 3-1 win over Fulham on Sunday, but the Capital One Cup winners have two games in hand and a superior goal difference to Chelsea.

Pellegrini is targeting an unprecedented Quadruple after collecting his first silverware as City boss with a 3-1 success over Sunderland at Wembley on Sunday, and Mourinho insists the Chilean’s team currently have the edge in the title race.

"I prefer to have the destiny in my hands, and only City have destiny in their hands," Mourinho said. "If I win every game until the end of the season, all 10 -- which we won't -- maybe we are not champions.

"If they [City] win all 12 games they have, they are champions. They have their destiny in their hands."

Mourinho elected to leave Samuel Eto’o out of Chelsea’s squad for the trip to Craven Cottage, but stated that the decision was tactical, rather than due to the recent furore over his disparaging remarks after the Cameroonian striker being recorded by Canal Plus.

"There's nothing wrong with Samuel. I just felt in this kind of match -- away from home, against normally defensive teams, aggressive defenders -- I thought to go with Fernando [Torres] and, if I need to risk in the last part of the game I'd use Demba [Ba]," Mourinho continued.

"You see, Eto'o scores goals but at home. He scores in the league, in the Champions League but all of them at home. Playing away is more difficult for him.

"I think he is our best striker to play at home because of his technique, his movement and his understanding with Eden [Hazard] and Oscar. For me, he is best to play at home. Away he is showing some difficulties."
