Pablo Daniel Osvaldo set for Juve move

Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is due in Turin for a medical on Friday morning before completing his move from Southampton to Juventus.

The Bianconeri have beaten off competition from Valencia and Inter Milan for Osvaldo, 28, who will join initially on loan until the end of the season, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, with Juve then obliged to pay a fee in the region of 18 million euros to make the deal permanent in the summer.

The Italy international is returning to Serie A after a troubled time at St Mary's, and he will be welcomed with open arms at the current league leaders and defending champions.

"I like Osvaldo. He's a great player and I remember him from when he played for Espanyol," Juve forward Fernando Llorente said in Repubblica. "Everybody is welcome here. Let's just see if he does come."

Osvaldo is no stranger to Serie A, having played for Atalanta, Bologna, Lecce, Fiorentina and Roma in the past.

The striker scored 28 goals in 57 games for the Giallorossi before being made a scapegoat by fans for their troubles last season, prompting him to join the Saints in the summer.
