Ferguson book smashes records

Sir Alex Ferguson has made one million pounds from sales of his latest autobiography after it broke a number of records, according to the Daily Mirror.

Okwonga: Lack of guile

The former Manchester United manager’s second instalment of his life story, "Alex Ferguson: My Autobiography", went on sale in October, shifting more than 115,000 copies in its first week to become the fastest-selling non-fiction title.

Ferguson’s book was also the top-selling print book of 2013, selling 803,084 copies.

Gross sales of the 25 pound book are estimated to be worth more than 10 million pounds, meaning the Scot has made at least one million pounds from the standard 10 percent author’s cut.

Ferguson released his first autobiography, "Managing My Life: My Autobiography", in 2000.
