Shea agents seek more Hughes talks

Brek Shea's representatives are hoping to hold further talks with Stoke manager Mark Hughes after the winger said he was keen to move on loan to keep his World Cup hopes alive.

Shea made his debut for the US national team in 2010
Shea has made only one appearance for Stoke this season.

Shea has failed to even make the bench for Stoke in the Premier League this season, and the 2.5 million pound signing from FC Dallas has made one appearance, against Walsall in the Capital One Cup, this season.

When he moved to England last season, he was told by USA coach Juergen Klinsmann that it would be bad for his international career -- and he has since made only one cameo appearance in his country's ten World Cup qualifiers.

Hughes is keen to find Shea a Championship club in order for him to get regular first-team action, but said: "My priority isn't to get Brek into the U.S. World Cup squad.

"My priority is to get him ready to play Premier League games here, and we are working on that every day. He has been talking about going out on loan, and if he can get into a decent club at a good level it would benefit him and us.

"If we feel an opportunity presents itself, and it would be good for Brek to go out and play games, then we'll look at it. But up to this point we haven't seen anything that we think will help."

Derby asked about Shea before manager Nigel Clough was sacked. Clough, now at Sheffield United, remains interested in Shea, but Stoke want him to move to the Championship.
