Jose Mourinho: Blues mean more to me

With three new big name signings through the door, Andre Villas-Boas is looking to bring some fresh spirit into Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Jose Mourinho has told The Sun that managing Chelsea means more to him than his spells at Porto, Inter Milan or Real Madrid.

Lythell: Mourinho aims to turn dreams into reality

Mourinho kicks off his second reign in earnest on Sunday as Chelsea host Hull in their Premier League opener.

He first came to prominence with Porto, in his native Portugal, as he secured the Champions League in 2004. He then headed to Chelsea, where he claimed two league titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups in three years.

His tenure at Stamford Bridge was brought to an abrupt end in September 2007, but he went on to have a highly successful stint in Italy with Inter -- winning a Treble in 2010 -- before joining Madrid, where he secured La Liga in 2012.

“My career is very rich,” Mourinho said. “I have won lots of things in different places. Every competition I wanted to win, I did it, so I don’t feel that pressure that a manager without a big CV would feel.

“The only pressure I feel is the pressure of fighting for my own club, because being the manager of Chelsea means more than being the manager of any other club.

“Not because of what I did, not because of the pressure to succeed again, but because I always want Chelsea to win -- even in the last five years with 10 different managers. Now I’m here, I can do something I couldn’t do for the last five years: help Chelsea win. That’s the only pressure I feel.”

He does not feel he is risking his legacy by returning to Chelsea.

“What you did, you did. No one can delete it. No one can take away my history at Chelsea,” he said. “And I know the Chelsea mentality. They will never forget what I did before. They will never forget that I gave everything to this club.”
