Norwich sign Martin Olsson

Sweden international Martin Olsson will join Norwich on a four-year deal, the Canaries confirmed on Wednesday.

Martin Olsson: Point will be enough at Anfield
Olsson has spent seven years in England

Olsson, 25, moves to Carrow Road from Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee, with the final terms of his contract yet to be completed.

The defender, who can also play in the midfield, is manager Chris Hughton's fourth signing of the summer, following the captures of Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Nathan Redmond and defender Javier Garrido, who secured a permanent deal after being on loan from Lazio.

Hughton believes Olsson's experience in England will allow him to make an immediate impact for Norwich.

"We are delighted with the addition of Martin. He's been playing in England for seven years and is well acclimatised to the Premier League," he told Norwich's official website.

"He can also play anywhere on the left hand side so he brings us good flexibility in that sense. Plus, at 25 he's at an age where he has some experience and also some time to improve. At this time it is about improving the squad that we have and Martin certainly does that."

Norwich are also closing in on a deal for FC Twente midfielder Leroy Fer and Hughton insists the club's summer spending spree is not over just yet.

"At this time it is about improving the squad that we have and Martin certainly does that," he added. "We are delighted with the addition of Martin. He's been playing in England for seven years and is well acclimatised to the Premier League.
