Toure: I am not leaving for PSG
Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has denied he is leaving the club for Paris Saint-Germain.
Toure’s future has been a subject of speculation after his agent demanded a new contract but the Ivory Coast international, a £24 million signing from Barcelona in 2010, said he is not in talks with anyone else.
He told Sport-Ivoire in his homeland: “I am not heading for PSG. I have not given any agreement with any club. I am a City player for the moment.”
Toure’s current five-year contract does not expire until 2015 and talks about an extension are unlikely before the summer, when it will have two years left to run.
Dimitri Seluk, his agent, tried to give City an ultimatum for a new deal to be signed but Toure has given no hints that he wants to leave the Etihad Stadium.
Since his arrival, he has won the FA Cup in 2011, scoring the winning goal in the semi-final and final, and also the Premier League title last season.
However, Toure joined City to play with his older brother Kolo, who is expected to move on at the end of the current campaign.
