Ten-man Gateshead piled more pressure on relegation-threatened Barrow with a 1-1 draw in the Vanarama National League at Holker Street.

The hosts dominated the early exchanges with veteran Grant Holt rattling the crossbar following good link-up play with Luke James, before the latter was denied by Gateshead goalkeeper Jamie Montgomery.

James broke the deadlock in the 19th minute with a calm penalty after the striker was brought down in the area.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men just nine minutes...

Manny Oyeleke netted a stoppage-time equaliser to secure promotion-chasing Aldershot a 1-1 draw against Bromley.

The visitors went in front in the 24th minute when Luke Woolfenden tapped in Brandon Hanlan's cross from close range.

Louis Dennis then missed opportunities to double play-off hopefuls Bromley's advantage in the second half.

And they were punished at the death as Oyeleke pounced on a dropping ball and fired into the net.

Jennings was gifted the goal in the 36th minute, slotting in after a dreadful mix-up between defender Ben Chorley and goalkeeper David Gregory.

James Norwood and Ollie Norburn squandered good chances for a second early in the second half and Tranmere had a late let-off.

Louis Dennis saw his shot parried by Scott Davies but the ball fell to Josh Rees, who should have scored but could only spoon...

Macclesfield extended their lead at the top of the National League to four points with a 2-1 victory at 10-man Aldershot.

The Shots' hopes of leapfrogging Town to the summit were damaged in the fifth minute when last man Will Evans was sent off for bringing down Nathan Blissett.

Danny Whitaker scored from the resulting penalty and Blissett added a second in the 48th minute, scrambling home after Elliott Durrell had gone round the goalkeeper.
