Oldham Athletic confirm departure of manager David Dunn after poor run

League One strugglers Oldham Athletic have confirmed that David Dunn has left his post as manager.

Former Birmingham and Blackburn midfielder Dunn, who only took over in September, has seen his side suffer six defeats in their last eight games.

They are third from bottom of the League One table, and chairman Simon Carney said in a statement on the club's official website: "I would like to place on record my thanks and gratitude to David for his tireless efforts over the past four months under what have been extremely difficult circumstances, and wish him all the best for the future.

"He retained his dignity at all times, and his hard work and dedication has been commendable."

The statement said first-team coach Keith Brown had also left Boundary Park.
