Brazil great Ronaldo could buy Championship or Segunda club

Brazil legend Ronaldo has said he could buy a second-tier club in either England or Spain.

Ronaldo told Folha de S. Paulo that he was considering the move after being suggested for the role of Brazil's football federation president.

He said he felt he was not yet ready to take on that challenge and wanted to do something "innovative" at club level before taking it on.

He said: "It [the presidency] would be a great honour, but before that I want to experience running a big club.

"I'm thinking about buying a club in the second division in Spain or England.

"I want to do something innovative. I think I'm prepared for the challenge."

Ronaldo, who took an ambassadorial role as Brazil hosted the 2014 World Cup, World Cup on two occasions, in 1994 and 2002, won the competition twice as a player and also starred for clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid.
