Leaders Huddersfield win at Ipswich, Newcastle victorious at Rotherham

Huddersfield go into the international break on top of the Championship table after beating Ipswich 1-0 at Portman Road to claim their eighth win of the season so far.

David Wagner's side took the lead when club record signing Christopher Schindler headed home Aaron Mooy's corner in the second half.

The Terriers then produced a dogged defensive display to hold on and take all three points back to West Yorkshire as Ipswich's run without a goal extended to over 400 minutes.

A superb goal by Robbie Brady proved crucial as Norwich won 2-1 at Wolves to move back into second place.

The Canaries took an early lead through Cameron Jerome's header from a Wes Hoolahan cross, and could have doubled their lead when Hoolahan set up Jacob Murphy.

Brady's curling effort from outside the area made it 2-0 after the break, and although Wolves pulled one back through Dave Edwards soon afterwards, the Canaries held on.

In the early kick-off, Idrissa Sylla headed a late winner to earn QPR a 2-1 victory over West London neighbours Fulham, ensuring Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink ended a difficult week on high.

Manager Hasselbaink had been caught up in the Daily Telegraph's investigation into alleged corruption in football -- he denies any wrongdoing -- but took his place in the dugout and saw QPR win at Craven Cottage for the first time since 1980.

QPR were fortunate in victory as Fulham missed two penalties, first through Tom Cairney's saved spot-kick before Sone Aluko's stoppage-time penalty hit the post.

After missing a host of chances, Fulham were punished as substitute Sylla headed home in the 87th minute. Conor Washington's first league goal for QPR had opened the scoring before Tim Ream levelled.

Tammy Abraham continued his blistering form in front of goal, helping Bristol City come from behind to beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 at Ashton Gate.

Apostolos Vellios gave Forest a first-half lead before on-loan Chelsea striker Abraham scored his 11th goal of the season to equalise after the break.

Abraham then turned provider for the Robins' second as he teed up Jamie Paterson to clinch the win.

Newcastle won 1-0 at bottom club Rotherham thanks to Christian Atsu's solo strike.

Leeds returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Barnsley in the Yorkshire derby at Elland Road.

Kyle Bartley and Pablo Hernandez, who both played under boss Garry Monk at Swansea, put Leeds in front. Although Charlie Taylor's 70th-minute own goal set up a tense finish, Leeds held on.

Brighton claimed their first ever win at Hillsborough as goals from Sam Baldock and Anthony Knockaert gave Chris Hughton's side a 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday. Gary Hooper scored a last-minute consolation for the hosts.

Birmingham extended their unbeaten run to seven games as Stephen Gleeson's winner saw them secure a 1-0 win over Blackburn at St Andrews.

Aston Villa's torrid run in the Championship continued as Preston claimed a 2-0 win thanks to first-half goals from Ben Pearson and Jordan Hugill.

Cardiff suffered a sixth defeat in seven games as Jackson Irvine and Lucas Akins helped Burton secure a 2-0 victory at the Pirelli Stadium, while Reading midfielder George Evans cancelled out Matej Vydra's opener to help the Royals claim a 1-1 draw against Derby.

Meanwhile, Brentford and Wigan shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw.
