Schmeichel's header saves Leicester

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was the hero for the Championship club as his header helped salvage a dramatic 1-1 draw against Yeovil Town.

First XI: Goal-scoring goalkeepers

Leicester, who are top of England's second tier, were losing 1-0 against Yeovil at the King Power Stadium, only for Schmeichel, son of Manchester United legend Peter, to save the day.

The 27-year-old joined an attack and sent a header from Danny Drinkwater's cross crashing against the underside of the bar and down. The ball appeared to be over the line before striker Chris Wood -- who was credited with the goal -- made sure.

His father Peter, one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation, was no stranger to scoring goals either, netting 13 during his career, according to the Independent.

The dubious goals panel will have the final say but assistant manager Craig Shakespeare said: "I don't really care who scored. They are both claiming it.

"Kasper has been looking at the video evidence. When his header came down off the bar I didn't see the linesman signal the goal so I am pleased that Chris made sure. They can fight over it in the dressing room."

Information from the Press Association was used in this report.
