West Brom beat Liverpool at Anfield as Newport County force replay at Tottenham

Liverpool crashed out of the FA Cup in the fourth round for the third consecutive year under Jurgen Klopp after falling 3-2 to West Brom at Anfield on Saturday.

Roberto Firmino scored the opener but later missed a penalty, and West Brom quickly responded as Jay Rodriguez scored twice and contributed to a third that went down as a Joel Matip own goal just before half-time.

And though Mohamed Salah drew a goal back in the second half, the Baggies held firm to advance to the round of 16.

The video assistant referee also played a large part, both ruling out a fourth goal for West Brom and then granting Liverpool the penalty from which Firmino failed to equalise.

Harry Kane's 30th goal of the season saved Tottenham from a huge FA Cup shock as Newport County came within eight minutes of knocking the Premier League club out.

Mauricio Pochettino's men drew 1-1 at a raucous Rodney Parade as Kane tapped home his 30th of the season inside the final 10 minutes to rescue them from an abject defeat.

The eight-time FA Cup winners were second best for much of the game and the home fans were delirious just before the break when Padraig Amond opened the scoring, rising high to nod home a 38th minute opener and putting an incredible upset on the cards.

But then Kane scored his 12th goal in seven starts, side-footing Son Heung-Min's cross home to force a replay at Wembley.

League One high-fliers Wigan produced a blistering performance to dump Premier League side West Ham out of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win at the DW Stadium.

Wigan started at high speed and led after less than 10 minutes when Northern Ireland striker Will Grigg thundered in a header.

The visitors suffered a setback when Pedro Obiang was stretchered off after a strong challenge from Wigan's Max Power, and were down to 10 men early in the second period when Arthur Masuaku spat at Power and was shown a red card.

Wigan soon doubled their lead when Grigg fired home from the penalty spot after West Ham's Reece Burke was adjudged to have handled.

Southampton made it a tough first match in charge of Watford for Javi Gracia, with a Jack Stephens goal -- his first for the club -- after only four minutes proving enough for a 1-0 win on the south coast.

In the day's early game, Leicester City strolled to a 5-1 victory at League One Peterborough.

The Foxes, now unbeaten in their last six matches, were a class above the League One side with Kelechi Iheanacho and debutant Fousseni Diabate both scoring twice before Wilfred Ndidi completed the rout in stoppage time.

Swansea were held 1-1 at League Two high-fliers Notts County, who equalised after the break through striker Jon Stead, cancelling out Luciano Narsingh's strike moments before half-time.

Huddersfield drew 1-1 at home to Championship Birmingham despite taking the through Steve Mounie's first-half header. Lukas Jutkiewicz scored the leveller after the break when defender Michael Hefele lost the ball on the edge of his own area.

A much-changed Brighton side won 1-0 at Middlesbrough thanks to a Glenn Murray goal in a game low on quality and chances, while Nottingham Forest, who knocked Arsenal out in round three, were beaten 2-1 at Hull City.

Meanwhile, League Two Coventry won 1-0 at League One MK Dons, League Two Rochdale were denied late on by Millwall in a 2-2 draw at the Den and a Billy Sharp penalty gave Sheffield United a 1-0 victory over Preston at Bramall Lane.
