Wayne Rooney on bench, Marouane Fellaini starts for Man Utd at West Ham

Wayne Rooney will be on the bench for Manchester United as they look to reach the FA Cup semifinals at West Ham on Wednesday night, while Marouane Fellaini starts.

Rooney, 30, was in contention to play a part in the FA Cup quarterfinal replay after having played an hour for the Under-21 side on Monday.

The United and England skipper has been missing with a knee injury since the 2-1 defeat at Sunderland on Feb. 13, but manager Louis van Gaal hinted he could be involved at Upton Park.

Juan Mata is also on the bench for United, with Fellaini starting against the Hammers for the third time this season as the visitors try to counter what visiting striker Anthony Martial described as the Londoners' direct style.

West Ham, meanwhile, make two changes, with goalkeeper Darren Randolph in for Adrian and Enner Valencia coming in for Winston Reid. Andy Carroll starts again following his hat trick in the 3-3 draw at home to Arsenal on Saturday.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Fosu-Mensah, Smalling, Blind, Rojo, Carrick, Fellaini, Lingard, Herrera, Martial, Rashford.

West Ham XI: Randolph, Antonio, Tomkins, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Kouyate, Noble, Valencia, Lanzini, Payet, Carroll.
