Manchester United have increased security measures for Tuesday's Carabao Cup semifinal first leg because of fears that Manchester City fans have bought tickets in home sections of Old Trafford. Extra police and stewards will be on duty on Tuesday night in anticipation of potential clashes between rival fans. Tickets went on general sale after United failed to sell out, prompting fears that some City supporters have purchased seats intended for home fans. Both United and City agreed to cut the allocation for away fans for the two-legged semifinal after incidents at the last derby at the Etihad Stadium in December and during the League Cup semifinal in 2010. Teams playing away from home in the League Cup are usually entitled to 10 percent of the stadium capacity for their fans, but both United and City agreed to limit the travelling support to around 3,000. in line with Premier League guidelines. A United spokesman said: "We have a series of measures in place to minimise any risks, and anyone visibly or audibly supporting the away team in home areas will be denied entry to the ground or ejected during the game."
