Carabao Cup: Liverpool to host Chelsea; Frank Lampard's Derby County get Manchester United

Liverpool will host Chelsea while Frank Lampard's Derby County will visit Manchester United following the third-round draw for the Carabao Cup held on Thursday.

Holders of the most League Cup titles at eight, Liverpool last met Chelsea in the 2015 semifinals, a 2-1 aggregate win for the Blues.

Lampard, the former Chelsea and Manchester City player, will get a tough test at Old Trafford in his first season as manager with the Championship side.

Defending champions Manchester City will visit League One side Oxford United.

Tottenham Hotspur "applied for a special dispensation from the EFL Board" to play their match against Watford at Stadium MK, cup organisers said, because of the unavailability of Wembley on that date and ongoing construction delays to their new stadium.

The other all-Premier League matchups are Leicester City at Wolverhampton and Everton hosting Southampton.

The third round will be played during the week of Sept. 24.
