The midfielder is back with Liverpool and will miss England's upcoming matches with Spain in the UEFA Nations League and a friendly with Switzerland.
Lallana, 30, was limited to just three starts in all competitions for Liverpool last season, having suffered hamstring and thigh injuries.
He has only made one outing for Liverpool in 2018-19 so far, coming off the substitutes' bench against Crystal Palace in the 87th minute.
Meanwhile, England trained at St. George's Park on Tuesday, with Liverpool striker Dominic Solnake taking part in the session despite not being part of Gareth Southgate's squad.
