Liverpool's Sheyi Ojo with two assists as England U19s see off France

Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo impressed in England's opening game at the European Under-19 Championship by creating two goals in their win over France.

Ojo, who has made 11 first-team appearances for Liverpool, registered two assists in the Three Lions' 2-1 victory in Germany on Tuesday night.

The winger sent in a testing cross from the right-hand side that led to an own goal from Jerome Onguene with just two minutes on the clock, before he set up Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke with a clever pass in the ninth minute.

England sit in second place in Group B after one match played and take on leaders Netherlands next on Friday.

Speaking ahead of England's opener against France, Ojo said he is going to join up with Liverpool on their preseason tour to the United States after completing international duty.

"I am using this tournament as the start of a new season," he said. "Hopefully we get to the final and win it and we will be done on July 24 or 25. Then I am going straight to America after to meet up with the Liverpool squad so it could be an exciting few weeks.

"Jurgen Klopp has been great for me, giving me the opportunities he has done. I am very grateful for that. Hopefully if I get the same opportunities with England I can shine as well."
