David Beckham admires England and Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli

Former England captain David Beckham has hailed Dele Alli as fearless and says the Tottenham youngster can unite the country ahead of Euro 2016.

Alli, 20, is set to be included in Roy Hodgson's 23-man England squad, which is named on Monday, after a remarkable debut season in the Premier League in which he was named PFA Young Player of the Year.

The midfielder scored on his full England debut against France in November and was hugely impressive in March's 3-2 friendly win in Germany.

Beckham, who won 115 caps for England, has been impressed by Alli, particularly his confidence.

"I like Dele Alli because he plays with no fear," Beckham said. "He is a young and confident player who is not afraid to show how good he is on the field.

"Every fan, every England fan, every Tottenham fan, wants to see him step onto the field and do well at Euro 2016."

Asked if he had any advice for young players like Alli who are set for their first major tournament, Beckham said: "Go out there and enjoy it, because these occasions don't come around that often.

"When you have a chance to play for your country and a chance to play in a big competition, you have got to enjoy the moment and just go out for the win."
