Hodgson: Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fit

England manager Roy Hodgson says Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will recover in time to play a part at the World Cup "without a shadow of a doubt".

Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered medial knee ligament damage in the 2-2 draw with Ecuador in Miami on Wednesday.

However the winger was in attendance for Saturday's match against Honduras and was not wearing a protective knee brace.

"Everyone is fit. Oxlade-Chamberlain is making good progress. I think he'll make the tournament without a shadow of a doubt," Hodgson said, following the fiery 0-0 draw.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to miss England's first two group games against Italy and Uruguay but Hodgson hopes he will be fit to feature against Costa Rica on June 24.

Hodgson had previously stated that England would wait until the "last minute" to make a decision on Oxlade-Chamberlain's fitness, but he travelled with the squad to Rio.
