Bingham told he can leave Stags

Mansfield Town goalkeeper Michael Bingham has been told he can leave the club on a free transfer.

Bingham was second-choice to the highly-rated Kevin Pilkington but has made just one appearance since signing from Blackburn in June 2001.

Manager Stuart Watkiss has insisted the decision is purely for financial reasons and has now left the door open for youngster Jason White, who has just signed professional forms with the Stags, to take over as Pilkington's deputy.
