Troyes could not produce a repeat of last week's shock victory over then league leaders Marseille today, but they still managed to hit back to draw at Reims as they continue in their attempt to inch away from the bottom of Ligue 1.
Aissa Mandi headed Reims ahead just before the half-hour but Troyes were undeterred, Florian Jarjat heading against a post before Fabien Camus volleyed home a superb equaliser after 62 minutes.
It was Troyes' first away point of the season but for Reims it represented a missed opportunity as victory would have seen them into fifth in the table.
It was Reims who had the first real attack with Diego Rigonato's shot from the left of the area forcing Yohann Thuram-Ulien into a save.
Camus almost put Troyes ahead with a spectacular lob from 35 yards but his effort went inches over the bar.
Rigonato's free-kick then found Grzegorz Krychowiak at the near post and his powerful header saw Thuram pull out a superb save.
However, Reims were ahead after 29 minutes, Antoine Devaux's corner from the left found Mandi unmarked at the far post and he headed home.
The visitors' attacking intentions were clear after the break.
Stephane Darbion's cross-shot was repelled by Reims goalkeeper Kossi Agassa and minutes later Jarjat headed against a post.
Benjamin Nivet's first-time shot was deflected for a corner and the same player found himself in front of goal with only Agassa to beat but the keeper saved his effort.
However, Troyes' dominance was rewarded after 62 minutes when Fabrice N'Sakala beat his marker and crossed towards the far post where Camus sent home a superb left-footed volley.
