Eintracht Frankfurt v Hamburg SV: Preview

Hamburg coach Bert van Marwijk hopes to be celebrating a winning start to life in charge of the northern German side on Saturday evening.

The Dutchman replaced Thorsten Fink as Hamburg coach earlier this week, inheriting a side with the leakiest defence in the division, and a meagre four points from their first six games of the season.

He wishes to remedy both ailments at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, saying he would not settle for just a point at the Waldstadion.

``I want to win every game,'' he said. ``Anything else would be wrong because you've got to have this attitude when you take to the field.''

Van Marwijk believes he has got his message across after just three days as head coach and he now expects the team to put his ideas into practice.

``They lads have understood what I want and it's important that they stand behind it and know why we are doing things the way we are,'' Van Marwijk said.

``I'm not looking backwards, only forwards. My good feeling has got even better.''

Frankfurt midfielder Alexander Meier has no good feeling to report as he has once again been ruled out injured.

The Eagles' top goalscorer from last season has missed the past fortnight with a thigh strain.

``Unfortunately, these are injuries which could last a long time,'' said coach Armin Veh on Friday, who hopes to have Bastian Oczipka back in action.

Veh's other concern is how to cope with a potentially new-look Hamburg side, although he does not expect Van Marwijk to have changed a great deal in just three days.

``Anybody who could do that earns my respect,'' said Veh. ``But it is a disadvantage for us not to know how they will play.''
