Blades trio doubtful

Sheffield United trio Tony McMahon, Florent Cuvelier and Jose Baxter are all doubtful for the visit of former manager Micky Adams' Port Vale.

Defender McMahon (thigh) and midfielder Cuvelier (leg) have missed the last two games and striker Jose Baxter (thigh) was forced out of last Sunday's defeat at Coventry.

Forward Lyle Taylor is pushing for a recall to the starting line-up after coming off the bench in place of Baxter and scoring his first goals for the club last weekend.

Caretaker-boss Chris Morgan, in his second spell in temporary charge, has no other new selection problems as the Blades chase their second win of the season and first in 14 matches.

Carl Dickinson is suspended for Vale.

Dickinson received his fifth yellow card of the season during the home defeat to Peterborough last weekend and the defender will serve a one-match ban at Bramall Lane.

Boss Adams has said he intends to attack his old team which could mean a return to the starting line up for winger Jennison Myrie-Williams.

The likes of Louis Dodds, Chris Shuker, Ben Williamson, Richard Duffy and Chris Birchall are also options, although Adams is not expected to make too many changes. Gavin Tomlin (toe) remains on the sidelines.
