Buckle waits on Lawless

Luton boss Paul Buckle is hopeful that midfielder Alex Lawless will have recovered from a foot injury in time to take a place in the squad to face Nuneaton.

Lawless missed the 2-1 victory against his old club Forest Green last weekend and will face a late check.

Goalkeeper Mark Tyler is also still doubtful with a back injury so Dean Brill could again deputise.

Midfielder Danny Spiller (Achilles) is a long-term absentee and defender Simon Ainge is cup-tied for this fixture and will not feature.

Fellow defender Connor Essam is another player to miss out due to being ineligible, which means that centre-back Janos Kovacs is likely to retain his place at the heart of the Hatters defence.

Defender Greg Taylor has extended his loan spell at Tamworth and will not feature, but midfielder Adam Watkins has returned from a spell at Kidderminster and will be available for selection for this game.

French defender Kevin Malaga is likely to go straight into the Nuneaton side.

Malaga has joined Town on a short-term deal from Coventry, who have given him the go-ahead to play in this fixture.

However, goalkeeper Adam Smith has been refused permission to play by parent club Leicester and he will be forced to sit this one out.

This means that manager Kevin Wilkin will recall either Ben McNamara or Nathan Collett to deputise in between the sticks.

Midfielder Adam Walker has rejected a loan move to Nuneaton's cup opponents and is likely to start against the Hatters.

Walker is Town's leading scorer this season and preferred to stay at Nuneaton so that he could continue his university studies.
