Aquafresca boosts Levante

Levante head into Saturday's game at Espanyol with renewed confidence after securing the services of Robert Aquafresca for the rest of the season.

The Valencia-based club have had problems in front of goal in recent weeks and have moved to address the problem by bringing in the Italian striker from Bologna.

Levante are bidding to bring some consistency to their season after a run of four wins and three defeats in their last seven games.

They failed to find the target in three of those outings and know better is needed if they are to improve on their current eighth place in the standings.

Despite failing to score in six Serie A appearances this season, the 25-year-old is hoping a change of scenery will help him improve his goalscoring tally.

``Many Italian players like Massimo Volta and Marco Storari have played here and although I have not spoken with them personally, everyone has told me that this is a good place, it is a great club and a great city,'' said Aquafresca.

``I put myself at the disposition of the team and I hope to be decisive for them.

``I haven't scored a great amount of goals, but I hope there will be many here.''

Espanyol will be without the suspended Victor Sanchez and Javi Lopez as they look to continue their fine run of form.

Los Pericos have lost just once in eight games since Javier Aguirre took charge and have moved four points clear of the relegation zone in the process.

Mubarak Wakaso and Christian Gomez are also missing due to involvement on international duty and injury respectively, but Raul Baena will be fit for selection after recovering from a back problem.
