• Brassell: What next for Frank de Boer?
De Boer has just become the first manager to win four consecutive Dutch titles at the Amsterdam club, and consequently attracted the interest of a range of top sides -- including Barcelona. The 43-year-old himself publicly mentioned Tottenham Hotspur last Monday.
Sources state De Boer would find an offer from Barcelona exceptionally difficult to turn down, but that he does have reservations about the challenge of needing to revitalise a squad on the downturn of a sensational era. He is said to be intrigued of taking over an evolving team with potential for growth.
Speaking to ESPN, Kluivert enthused about his former teammate at Ajax and Barcelona. "Like Pep Guardiola as a player, you could see Frank would become a trainer," Kluivert said.
"He is a winner. He wanted to win everything, even card games, anything other than football, he wanted to win, and that's the most important thing everybody needs to have. That's the most important thing, that you are a winner.
"He is a big trainer coming, absolutely."
