Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock rues disallowed goal in City loss

MANCHESTER -- Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock believes a "disgraceful" decision to disallow James McArthur's goal cost his side in their 3-0 defeat at Manchester City.

With City 2-0 ahead, McArthur was wrongly ruled offside as he headed in Yannick Bolasie's cross, and Warnock feels that decision may have changed the complexion of the game.

Warnock said: "We scored a cracking goal that would have put the whole stadium until a bit of doubt. It is hard enough to score at the Etihad without goals being chalked off without a reason.

"I wish I was still working in the media so I could say what I want without getting fined. It is two yards onside. It is a disgraceful decision.

"You have to get decisions like that right. My players deserve that. It is so disappointing."

He added: "The linesman will be disappointed when he sees it. It's not hard to look across and see it."

Warnock acknowledged that his side may still have been beaten but felt the goal robbed them of the chance to stage a comeback.

"We might have lost 5-1 -- I can't tell you that -- but at 2-1 the crowd might have been nervous," he said.
