Argentina and Chile will face off in the United States, this time in a friendly at Los Angeles' Memorial Coliseum on Sept. 5.

The match marks the first time the two South American powerhouses will meet in the U.S. since Argentina's fateful 4-2 loss to Chile on penalty kicks at the Copa America 2016, a heartbreaking loss that sent Lionel Messi into temporary retirement for Argentina.

A friendly between Brazil and Peru at the same venue is set for Sept. 10.

All four teams are currently competing in Copa America in Brazil, with Peru set to face Uruguay in the Arena Fonte Nova of Salvador on Saturday, while Chile will play at Sao Paulo's Arena Corinthians against Colombia on Friday. Host Brazil play Paraguay in Porto Alegre in the first quarterfinal on Thursday, and Venezuela face Argentina at the Maracana stadium in Rio on Friday.

"Once again, we welcome the best international football players to our stadium to showcase their talent to the world," said Joe Furin, LA Coliseum manager, in a news release.

Proceeds from the match, set for a 7 p.m. PT start, will benefit Homeboy Industries and Operation Smile as well as local clubs in L.A., Furin said in the news release.
