Paraguay's Enrique Caceres to officiate United States-Argentina semifinal

Paraguayan referee Enrique Caceres has been selected to officiate the Copa America Centenario semifinal between the United States and Argentina on Tuesday in Houston.

Caceres had previously worked Mexico and Uruguay's Group C opener in Glendale, Arizona, in which he showed six yellow cards and two reds in a contentious affair.

The match, which ended 3-1, was also marked by Uruguayan calls for a handball on Rafa Marquez's winning goal.

Fellow Paraguayans Eduardo Cardozo and Milciades Saldivar will join Caceres in Tuesday's semifinal, while Ecuador's Roddy Zambrano will be the fourth official.

Caceres had also acted as the fourth official for Peru's controversial 1-0 defeat of Brazil in their final Group B match -- a result that eliminated the five-time world champions.

The U.S.-Argentina semi will kick off at 9 p.m. ET.
