Row escalates over Mexican clubs' withdrawal

Mexican teams will not play in any competitions sanctioned by the South American confederation CONMEBOL until a row over two Copa Libertadores matches is settled.

The president of the Mexican football federation (FMF) Justino Compean announced the move after San Luis and Guadalajara withdrew from the cup competition following the refusal of opponents Nacional of Uruguay and Brazilian side Sao Paulo to play in Mexico because of the swine flu outbreak.
