Guillen's next hearing is Aug. 14

KIRKLAND, Wash. -- Seattle Mariners starting shortstop Carlos Guillen has pleaded innocent to a charge of drunken driving and been granted a jury trial.

In a Municipal Court hearing Tuesday in this suburb east of Lake Washington, Judge Albert Raines also rejected a request by prosecutors to require that Guillen attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings until a pretrial hearing Aug. 14.
