United States-Mexico game pushed back one day to Saturday, Oct. 10

The Confederations Cup playoff game between the U.S. and Mexico has been pushed back one day to Oct. 10.

The game, originally set for Friday, Oct. 9, will now take place on Saturday to accommodate a "Futbol Fiesta" fan zone outside the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

The U.S. and Mexico will play the game to decide which team represents CONCACAF at the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.

The game became necessary after each team won one of the past two Gold Cups -- the U.S. in 2013 and Mexico last month.

The U.S. went to the final of the 2009 Confederations Cup, while Mexico lost in the group stage in 2013.
