FC Dallas held by Suchitepequez; Tigres shocked by Plaza Amador

FC Dallas' hopes of making the knockout rounds took a potential hit on Wednesday night as Suchitepequez held the Major League Soccer club to a 0-0 draw in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Suchitepequez of Guatemala's top division is still level on points with Dallas in Group H and the teams have an all-or-nothing finale on Oct. 20 in Mazatenango to determine which team will advance.

Dallas won the U.S. Open Cup and is one of the favorites for the MLS Cup, and were widely expected to win this group..

Liga MX side Tigres hit a bump in the road losing away 1-0 to Plaza Amador.

Ricaurte Barsallo's 37th minute goal was all that was needed to see off "Tuca" Ferretti's team and keep fellow Group G club Herediano in contention for top honors when it faces Tigres on Oct. 18.

With top spot in Group C already well in hand, the Vancouver Whitecaps smashed Central FC 4-1.

Cristian Techera scored twice after Blas Perez put the Whitecaps on the board in the 11th minute for an early lead. Masato Kudo also scored for Vancouver, while Sean De Silva scored from a free kick to give the visitors a modicum of consolation.

Monterrey's forgettable CCL campaign ends on a high note with a 3-0 win against Don Bosco. However, Group D toppers Arabe Unido already were in position to advance to the knockout stages.
