Match Commentary
91' FULL-TIME: A marvellous effort by Scotland in a truly engrossing game which never let up in it's intensity. James McFadden could have won it for the Scots, instead they were dealt the cruellest of blows in the closing seconds. A draw would have been a fairer result and would have ensured that Scotland's dream lived on at least until France visited the Ukraine. Christian Panucci had other ideas though. |
91' Craig Gordon has to look lively to parry a shot from Chiellini. 1-3 would have flattered Italy to be fair. |
89' GOAL: Italy have broken Scottish hearts right at the death. Pirlo crosses and Panucci lofts a header past Craig Gordon to end Scotland's hopes of a place in Euro 2008. |
