FULL TIME - finally the whistle goes to end calamitous scenes. Usually any time there is a head injury play stops immediately, and Dean caused the subsequent fracas between players and both benches. Anyway, at the end of all that Spurs go fourth, level on points with Chelsea and Michu seems to be fine, which is good news. Phew.
Dean still plays on, and Spurs win a corner when they really should have scored again. Still we go on.
Livermore got booked - he's on the bench. Mike Dean restarts the ball with Swansea's goalkeeper. Crazy all round.
Michu is pole-axed by Lloris as they both went for a high ball. The 'keeper won it but smashed the striker in the face and he landed awkwardly. Bizarrely, Mike Dean let play go on and Townsend nearly scored. Now Chico is going mad at Walker and things have got a little bit feisty.
Defoe is late on Britton and is rightly booked.
Two slices of hesitation then Gallas nods out for a corner when Lloris was right behind him waiting to claim.
Panic in the area as a long free kick drops into Spurs' box, lots of headers before Sandro hoofs clear,
Dembele removed and Scott Parker makes his long awaited return.
Lloris claims a long ball from Augustien...
Five minutes added. Hope for Swansea...
Graham is flagged offside from a clipped ball forward.
A very scrappy passage of play as plenty of tackles fly in. Eventually Spurs win a free kick.
Defoe is denied by Tremmel as he gets a real sight of goal for the first time in a while. Should have scored.
Danny Graham is on in place of Nathan Dyer.
Sigurdsson goes for glory from range but it's a wild shot.
Hilarious theatrics from Chico, who goes down like he's done an ACL, screaming right near the touchline microphone, rolling gently across the turf. Then, within 30 seconds, he's up on in possession.
Vital, vital intervention from Naughton as Swansea broke from the corner, Dyer was about to slot Routledge clean through but the defender was there.
Vertonghen goes in search of his second from the free kick but Britton's deflection takes it over the bar.
Chico upends Townsend as the youngster cut back onto his right foot and is booked.
Spurs heading joint third as it stands.
Definitely a suspicion of offside for the goal - Vertonghen loitering ahead of the line as the ball was delivered.
Little time wasted by Swansea in loading numbers forward.
Tottenham Hotspur to win, with bet365
Swansea City to win, with bet365
A very crisp strike too - the free kick is flicked on by Ben Davies and Vertonghen fires home on the half volley brilliantly.
GOAL Vertonghen scores!
Routledge trips Townsend and Spurs can load the box. Now Ki goes off and Luke Moore comes on.
No team has conceded more goals than Tottenham (11) from the 71st minute onwards in the Premier League this season.
Poor from Dembele as he neglects to shoot and loses possession to boot.
Adebayor hobbles down the tunnel and I doubt he'll be back. He won't, Andros Townsend replaces him.
Adebayor hits the turf clutching his ankle. Sustained the knock in a challenge with Dyer.
Spurs change, Dempsey makes way for Sigurdsson.
No end product from Lennon as he charges 65 yards with the ball diagonally across the field.
Dembele is harshly punished for stopping Tiendalli in his tracks. Actually, on the replay the Belgian did grab his opponent.
Sharp shot from Defoe as Dembele finds him but it was always skipping wide.
Ki is not having a good game, poor control then gives the ball away when Dyer laid it off. Get him subbed I say.
The final ball is still lacking from Spurs - lots of last-ditch tackles flying in from red shirts.
Swansea change: De Guzman heads off and Kemy Augustien gets a chance to show what he can do.
Good move from Spurs, drawing Swansea inward and creating space for Walker who has a great shooting chance but skews wide of the target from 16 yards out.
Tremmel gets a tiny touch on Vertonghen's looping header and concedes a corner but Swansea clear and break with Ki - Adebayor gets back to apprehend him.
A yellow for De Guzman, as the crowd howl in reference to his foul on Dembele.
Dembele cuts in now and has a pop, it hits Adebayor and wrong foots the keeper but dribbles five yards wide.
Dembele is robbed off the ball then brages De Guzman and gets a booking.
Adebayor feeds Lennon and gets the ball back but Britton blocks the attempted shot.
A poor cross from Vertonghen when well placed. The crowd groan. They are starting to get a little tetchy.
Adebayor comes away with the ball, ignores Defoe and hits a rather laboured shot at goal, it was heading wide but Tremmel tips round the post.
Excellent work from Dembele to dispossess Dyer as Swansea looked to break from Tottenham's corner.
Swansea should be in front! Dyer at the near post could only glance Routledge's cross wide when he had the entire goal to aim at. All he needed was decent contact on it.
Walker hooks Routledge round the neck and hauls him out of the way then looks shocked when a free kick is given.
We begin again...
Nathan Dyer and Sandro battle for possession
HALF TIME - a lively half with Tottenham on top for most of it. Swansea retain a threat on the break but have been hanging on for most of it.
Vertonghen hits it but the wall does its job.
Britton loses the ball hen clips Defoe from behind just as he was about to shoot. Decent opening, 25 yards out and central.
This half deserves a goal. I have decided.
An audacious effort from Michu as he goes for a lob over Lloris from 45 yards after Spurs gave the ball away. Not far away but the 'keeper was certainly worried.
Tremmel is worked again, saving from Lennon's effort and that previous Walker save actually came off his shoulder.
Swansea enjoy a rare break as Routledge brings the ball away, finds De Guzman and he fizzes a shot just over the angle of post and bar.
Wow, Kyle Walker hits an absolute pile-driver at Tremmel! The keeper punches it away, then as the ball is returned Gallas has a free header ten yards out but can't generate enough power.
Indecision between Lloris and Gallas as they both go for the same ball and gift Swansea a corner that hits the first man.
Now Williams gives away a free kick for barging Dempsey over but Spurs take the free kick quickly and Lennon is offside.
Adebayor gamely tries to chest a fierce pass into the path of Defoe - the striker can't collect.
More poor delivery into the area, this time from Naughton, when no-one was in there.
Back to gentle probing for Spurs now. Swansea encamped again.
Fierce cross from Tiendalli and Routledge does his best to get a head on it but can't. Oh for Michu being in that situation instead. He's taller for a start.
Good cross from Walker and Dempsey prepares to strike before another last-ditcher from Chico prevents the shot.
Very subdued atmosphere - or maybe I'm judging it by the standards of the CWC and those mad Corinthians fans.
Swansea shaping up a little bit after being under the cosh for a while. Dyer probing down the right.
Sandro dives in, doesn't win the ball, but makes no contact with Dyer. Free kick Swansea.
Super football from Spurs - started by a crossfield spray from Vertonghen. Then Lennon and Sandro play a one-two before Chico blocks a cross towards Defoe. Pressure building.
Dempsey climbs well to meet Lennon's cross but it loops harmlessly into the arms of Tremmel.
Naughton crosses deep to the back post - too deep for any of his team mates.
Nice effort on the turn from Defoe as Dempsey poked the ball towards him. Four yards wide in the end.
Walker's delivery is met by Adebayor but only with a glancing blow - though another corner is given.
Tiendalli piles in on Adebayor and is lucky not to give away a free kick. Spurs settle for a corner.
Walker's free kick cannons into the wall.
Another vital block - this time from Chico as Adebayor connected with a cross, then Dyer clips Sandro on the box edge and is carded.
And now he should have scored - Michu gives the ball away, Sandro back heels for Defoe and his shot is blocked by the man who gave it away. Atonement.
First sniff for Defoe, who for once evades Chico and Williams but his shot is tame and Tremmel swallows it.
Dempsey clips Dyer as he cuts in from the touchline and Mike Dean warns him that's his second foul already in the game.
Now Chico dives in to rob Defoe of the ball on the edge of the box.
Superb challenge from Williams as Defoe tried to jink past him into the area. Firm and fair.
Defoe wants a penalty after smacking the ball into Williams' midriff, then Sandro's shot on goal goes out for a throw in.
Poor control from Dyer as Britton looks for him down the right hand side.
A session of ping pong and Adebayor and Dempsey swap passes, Chico's clearance is blocked and the American can't make anything of the loose ball.
Spurs fans cheer some good pressure on the ball but as they so usually do Swansea play themselves out of trouble majestically and win a free kick.
The corner is flicked by Ki and goes all the way across goal to Chico who blasts over from a tight angle on the stretch.
First involvement for Michu as he tries a dummy inside the area. Vertonghen tracked him and concedes a corner.
Tiendalli gets forward for Swansea but wastes too much time making up his mind and is crowded out.
Tremmel does well to prevent a corner after Williams tackled Adebayor.
Swansea can go above Tottenham and into fifth with a win today - Spurs can go level on points with Chelsea in third if they taste success.
